Affiliate marketing question(s) for a beginner. Experts please help if can.?

Saturday, May 30th, 2009

1. Once I put a “link” to the product on my blog website, do I earn commission for each product that is sold or just the first one?
2. My web site is unknown. How do I attract an audience?
3. Why do I need to go through a 3rd party affiliate network like clickbank or commission junction in order to promote products? Do they take part of your commission away? Can’t I just work directly with the vendors?

Thank you :)

1) Normally, you will earn commission from every sale of a product that comes through your link. The affiliate network, whether it's clickbank or CJ or shareasale or whomever, will send you checks on a published schedule for your sales. Nice thing is – that's ALL you have to do. You don't need to turn in orders, handle money and payments and orders – just cause traffic and sales through your site.

2) You'll need to get your site known. One way is to answer questions here and on other forums and include in your profile or your posts, your signature box, including the address of your website. IMPORTANT: When you answer questions, give the best answer you know how to give, and as thorough as you know how, because you want people to know that you KNOW what you're talking about. Then, they will possibly want to know more and click on your site. So, it's good for you AND it's good for them..

3) As I mentioned in answer #1, by going through the affiliate network, you don't have to deal with anything except marketing of your website that has the links to the product. If you deal directly with the product provider, (which you CAN DO), then you have to be responsible to the provider for your orders, collections of money and payments, refunds, etc., etc., and so on.

The small amount the networks charge before your commission is WELL WORTH it to you, as you do your job and they just send you money.

While you can deal directly with the product provider, some of them won't deal with you because you're unknown and – frankly, may not pay for goods ordered, or follow through and deliver to your customer. The affiliate network makes sure there aren't problems either with you getting your money, or with the customer getting his/her product.

It's a very, very good system, and I've been using it for several years.

How can I get a large amount of traffic to my site which converts to sales, I am marketing affiliate products?

Saturday, May 30th, 2009

I have used classified ads, PPC, blogs, only to have traffix trikle in and no sales. I need to find a way to get tens of thousands of potential targeted leads to my sites and have a decent portion convert to sales. Any suggestions that are relatively inexpensive (within $100/ month marketing budget)?

Getting traffic is a combination of a lot of things. The key to success is to create great content that visitors want to use, search engines will love and other websites will naturally link to. Of course, it's easier said than done.

You can use pay per click advertising in the search engines to reach audiences looking for your products. You can use Google Adwords http://www.google.com/adwords or Yahoo http://searchmarketing.yahoo.com

Here are some shoestring marketing ideas that can help you get the visitors you need at the least cost possible:

1. Create the best content you can with the best products you can possibly offer. Your content is your best advertisement – if visitors love your content, then they will go back and spread the word to others.

2. Improve your conversion. Getting visitors is one thing; getting them to buy your products is a whole different story. Read the article " How To Sell More on the Web: 30 Tips To Increase Conversion Rates For An Ecommerce Site " http://www.powerhomebiz.com/092006/ecommerce.htm for tips on how to improve your conversion rates.

3. Rank well in the search engines (organic search results, not the pay per click). SEs can be a big source of traffic. The key is to create the best content in your niche. If you have good content, other websites will gladly link to you and offer your site as a resource to their audience. Check the on-page factors and be sure to get linked from authority sites in your topic area.

If you are going to read only one piece on search engine optimization, I suggest you read Brett Tabke of WebmasterWorld.com's "Successful Site in 12 Months with Google Alone: 26 steps to 15k a day." http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum3/2010.htm

4. Send out press releases. While outfits charge as much as $650 per release, there are free press release submission places on the Web. Press releases allow you to (a) attract media attention; (b) get more back links to your website without sending each website an email request; and (c) get more visibility especially if your press release gets in Google News or Yahoo News.

5. Submit articles. Write articles and submit them to websites accepting author submissions. You get exposure for your business; establishes you as an authority in your field, and allows you to get backlinks for your website. If 50 websites publish your article and it contains a link back to your website, then you easily get 50 links from a single article. The more links you have, the greater your chances for increasing your search engine rankings.

Here is a comprehensive list of where to submit your articles http://answers.yahoo.com/question/;_ylt=AhzreGmnCUicOoyedqypscUjzKIX?qid=1006022407481

6. Make it easy for users to recommend your site. Viral marketing is very important — and easy to tap on the Web. But give your users the tools. Get a Recommend this Site script from websites such as cgiscripts.com and similar directories of scripts. Some even go as far as giving incentives to those who recommend the site to their friends. If only 10 people go to your site, but these 10 people invite 10 more – that's additional traffic that you get for FREE!

what is the best and most effective CPA review materials?

Saturday, May 30th, 2009

I plan to take CPA exam in the next 6 months. There are a lots of CPA review products in the market such as CPA excel Becker’s, Roger’s, etc. I would like to have your opinion on what is the most effective CPA reviews material based on your experience . Thank you !

Becker is widely considered the best. Put another way, all of the Big 4 (PwC, D&T, E&Y, and KPMG), BDO, BKD, and Grant Thornton all send their people through the Becker program.

From my personal experience, it works. Just stick to the program by watching the lectures and doing both the multiple choice questions and the simulations. If you do this, you should be fine. The exam is difficult, but not impossible if you have a plan and stick to it. I used the Becker program last year and passed all four section on my first try from July to November ’07.

The down side of Becker is the price (if you have to pay for it yourself). It is more expensive than the others. I was lucky enough to be in a position that my employer paid for the cost of Becker. I am sure that other review courses would also work but I can’t speak to them personally.

Good Luck on the exam!

Who can provide me 1 to 1 affiliate marketing coaching?

Saturday, May 30th, 2009

I’d like to benefit from 1 t 1 coaching to get my affiliate marketing business off the ground successfully. I’d like individual coaching as I’ve used it before and it works. I’ve read books, studied online etc, but I’d like a personal coach to get me off the ground. Does anyone know of someone who provides such a service?

All I can say to you on an honest basis is that some of these online opportunities are proven to be scams that is very true therefore it is about researching to see what is genuine and what is not however some people think that online businesses are get rich quick schemes which they are not they take alot of work just like any business however the rewards for that work will be good. I have been a personal development and success coach for 5 years not and the most genuine opportunity I have found is a 3 1/2 year old company.
